About the site

This site was created with two goals in mind. First, I wanted to create a place where people can find information pertaining to the imprisonment of Omar Khadr. To this end, the site contains links to official reports on Khadr, relevant international conventions, and a summary of the whole ordeal.

Second, I wanted to increase awareness of the fact that Khadr was a child when he supposedly committed his crimes. His actions were the product of his parents and his surroundings. At 15, he was not considered responsible enough to vote in Canadian elections. He could not even get a driver’s license in his native Ontario. It is insanity to now treat him as an adult. The flickr tag idea is a response to this goal.

The site was created by Ryan Briggs, with help from Maya Berinzon and Travis Boisvenue and is being updated by Mohamed Virji. It was created using Tumblr for expediency and ease.
